Artists Info

Kabir Chandra - Host

Sales head for one of the country's leading music labels, Kabir also has been a radio jockey in his past avatars and responsible for being and honing some of India's very best on-air talent. He has been a theatre artist since his teens and a college stage sensation having won multiple awards for street plays from an early age. He is now among the most emerging voices in stand-up comedy in the city and a seasoned improvizer.

Shlok Siddhant

He calls himself a regular Assamese boy with a South Indian name; he is from Mumbai and born in Delhi. A lawyer in the making, he believes his jokes will land him in the ranks of Tanmay Bhat (and eventually on the Newshour Debate). Having won his first open mic at the age of 16 and after performing at various cities, he believes he is funnier than his Assamese friend, Arnab Goswami.

Sonali thakker

Part-time stock-broker, full-time Gujju and weekend comedienne, Sonali Thakker is the biggest threat to the dumb blonde theory. Covering socially relevant topics such as travelling, shopping and chaprigiri, Sonali's stand-up is powerful, always funny and sometimes scary. And it has taken her to the biggest of stages including Canvas Laugh Club and NCPA. The other big love of her life is travelling as it gives her great material and is the only way she can escape from people cracking sad Gujju jokes. Surprisingly, stand-up has not increased her popularity on shaadi.com but that is okay 'coz Sonali has been kicking ass even before women's empowerment was a thing

Siddharth Gopinath

A very, very tall person from Chennai.

Govind Menon

Govind Menon, like most stand-up artists had a troubled childhood. Growing up on the mean streets of Mira Road, the only thing he had going for him was his curly hair. Having recently hit puberty, not much has changed except that instead of his diary, Menon now uses a mic to document the ridiculous events that make up his life. Some of these events also happen to be funny.

Popularly known as poor man`s Kanan Gill, Menon is now realizing that most poor people do not know Kanan. So he is making a serious effort to actually be funny. You are invited to see the progress for yourself.

Urooj Ashfaq

Urooj Ashfaq is a writer and comedian working in Mumbai, living in Navi Mumbai but sounding like she is from an Archies Universe. Albeit this would be a metal version of an Archies Universe given the topics her stand-up covers from burqas to cannibalism. Serious subject matter coupled with her rather fun delivery have already won her several stand-up competitions in Mumbai and it looks like she is going to be around for a while.

Prashasti Singh

Prashasti Singh is yet another IIM graduate searching for meaning outside academic excellence and material achievement. She is one-tenth of the choir group 'The Etceteras' and has already won several stand-up competitions on the Mumbai circuit. Between stand-up and Improv she has found space for expressing her small-town sensibilities amidst big town hustle. In the end, it may just turn out to be another Amethi to Andheri story but at least we had some good laughs along the way.

Jasmeet Singh Bhatia

Jasmeet Singh Bhatia is an upcoming standup comedian and has participated in various events.

Abijit Ganguly

Abijit is a Bengali boy, born in Bangalore, raised in Delhi, amidst the deeply-influencing Punjabi culture, dating a Gujarati girl who lives in UP. Basically, he's Mr. India. He is popularly referred to as the best looking Bengali man after Bappi Lahiri. Tired of his ever-deteriorating life, Abijit thought of getting up on stage and declaring that life doesn't have its share of ups and downs, but downs and further downs, after which you realize that the previous down was indeed an up. Over four years now and he's been killing it telling his tales of marriageable age, alcoholism, racism, superheroes, beggars, dating a Gujarati girl, weight issues, media, driving an Indica, politics and contemporary issues. On special request, he does a lot of sex comedy (which is kind of ironical).
