Considered amongst the world’s best composers, Dr Ilaiyaraaja needs no introduction. Composing 7,000+ songs, recording film scores for 1,400+ movies, and performing at least 20,000 concerts - is no mean feat. He is a living legend. A recipient of several awards & accolades, including national honours - Ilaiyaraaja is credited with popularising the combination of western musical sensibilities with traditional Indian instruments and bringing that sound to the mainstream. We can go on and on talking about the Maestro, and it still won’t do justice.
