A Snake Awareness Session with Omkar Dharwadkar.

During this free workshop you can expect to learn:

• Some easy snake species identifiers and behavioural patterns
• How to tell if a snake is venomous - a brief intro to venom and anti-venom
• Tips on avoiding human-snake conflict
• Currently threatened snake species and how we can help them
• Why snakes are important for the health of an ecosystem

Time: 6:00PM - 7:00PM

(A 45 minute session, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A, open to the audience)

For 8 years, Omkar Dharwadkar has worked as a professional naturalist and wildlife photographer in India. Founder of Mrugaya Xpeditions, he conducts bird tours and wildlife expeditions in and around Goa. He has a strong working knowledge of the biodiversity that resides there, and has filed several new species reports of birds, butterflies and dragonflies he has spotted in that region. He is also the president of Goa Bird Conservation Network, who work towards the documentation and conservation of birds in Goa.
