"An evening with Arias, Songs and Art " is an intimate event designed to bring the beauty of Western classical music closer to Indian audience in a relaxed and approachable setting. Being held in the lovely atmosphere of KNMA, this evening aims to combine the powerful impact of opera and art song offering guests a unique cultural experience.

Opera Arias and Art Songs


The repertoire will include works from different composers, periods and styles. From opera, songs to musicals. Each piece will be performed with live piano accompaniment. Throughout the performance, Silvija will interact with the audience, offering brief explanations about the composers, the historical context of the works, and insights into the emotions conveyed in the music.


About the artists:


Aching Shaiza

Pianist and Mezzo Soprano graduated from Patkai Christian College. She did her under study piano with Mrs. Margaret Anne Shishak. She holds ATCL, Dip. ABRSM, Performer’s Certificate Piano and Voice. Did Jazz piano, composition, musical theatre and drama at Caux Switzerland.

Former IB music teacher and HS Choir at The American Embassy School, The British School and at The Delhi School of music.

She has performed in London, Birmingham, Switzerland, Ireland, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, NCPA Mumbai and many places in India, Europe and Asia conducting workshops and performing with visiting concert artists from around the world.

Her students, many of whom has won National and international (Piano/voice) competitions, many of whom are pursuing music degree programs at Harvard University, Longy School of Bard, Royal College of Music London, graduated from Manhattan School of Music, Ithaca NYC, The New school in NYC, Berkeley School of Music to name a few.

Aching Shaiza is a (Piano/Voice) faculty at Caux Artist Program, Switzerland and the Head of Department for voice at THEME Music Institute, Delhi NCR.


Silvija Radjen Kumar

Silvija Radjen Kumar graduated from the Music Academy in Ljubljana(Slovenia) in the class of soprano Theresa Plut. In 2014 she won the Second Prize at the 7th International Competition of Solo Singers “Bruna Spiler”. In 2016 she was awarded First Prize as an absolute winner in her category at the 4th International Singing Competition “Lav Mirski”. In 2021, at the 1stInternational Competition “ArtSong Opus”, she won a special prize in her category, as well as the prize for the best repertoire. She had been performing in many different countries (Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Austria, Hungary, Italy, India) from which some should be mentioned like the role of Zerlina in Mozart’s opera “Don Giovanni” (Slovenia, 2019), the role of Paquette in Bernstein’s operetta “Candide” (Slovenia, 2021), the role of Nerone in Handel’s opera “Agrippina” (Slovenia, 2022), the role of Almirena in Handel’s opera “Rinaldo”(Belgrade, 2024), the role of Calisto in Cavalli’s opera “La Calisto” (UK, 2024), as well as the role of Sesto in Handel’s opera “Giulio Cesare.” Her next role will be in Dido in Henry Purcell’s opera “Dido and Aeneas” in May in London (UK). She had participated in numerous international seminars and masterclasses with renowned artists and vocal pedagogues.
