About the Event
The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival held in February annually, is undoubtedly one of the biggest draws for all art patrons across Mumbai year after year. In these unusual and uncertain times, this festival titled KGAFunlocked, will be held virtually from 6-14 February’ 2021, with a focus on educating the patrons with glimpses into an artist’s studio.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, India’s leading museum of art & history, has collaborated with the Kala Ghoda Association inviting artists' participation by way of short videos with an enriching insight into each ones workspace, and their creative journeys.
Organised by the Visual Arts Team of the Festival, these videos will throw light on the introspections and reflections of some of our most creative minds as they discuss their inspiration, their pre occupation through the challenges of Covid and their thoughts on an era in Art post-Covid.
While we may not be able to replicate the physical experience and the nine day revelry, we hope to use the digital and social media platforms to introduce our visual art lovers to these virtual studio visits of contemporary artists located in various cities.
Artists who are part of the Art Entrance 2021 include Ajay De, Arzan Khambata, Brinda Miller, Dhruvi Acharya, Jaideep Mehrotra, Madhvi Subramaniam, Rekha Rodwittiya, Sunil Padwal, Sameer Kulavoor, Seema Kohli, Subodh Kerkar, Valay Shende, and Valentina Furian.
