About the Event
Pongal is a four-day long festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu to thank mother nature for giving them a wonderful harvest. Family and friends get together to exchange gifts and relish traditional home-cooked dishes like Venn Pongal, Sweet Pongal and much more.
Pongal in home-chef Kala's home is celebrated with a lovely feast prepared with the rice from the first harvest. She has hosted a number of meals with Authenticook and would love to have people come over to celebrate this festival with her and her family.
HOT RASAM
A perfect way to start the meal is with a piping hot glass of rasam made with homemade powder and curry leaves

DAL VADAI
Crispy and crunchy lentil fritters
KARA PONGAL
A festival favourite made with rice and lentil curry. This is finished with a tempering of clarified butter and curry leaves
LEMON RICE
Perfectly cooked rice flavoured with lemon, crunchy curry leaves, mustard seeds and coriander
COCONUT RICE
Soft and fluffy rice made with coconut
PONGAL SAMBAR
A lentil curry made with mix vegetables served with Pongal
URULAI ROAST
Diced potatoes roasted till crunchy and brown
CHAKRA PONGAL
A rice based sweet dish made with jaggery, milk, lentils and dry fruits
