KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival in association with One Future Collective and Social is proud to present the second screening program as part of Social's 'Queer Art Fest'.


Best of KASHISH #2

June 28th | 6.30pm onwards

6 independent LGBTQ films and Q&A with Filmmakers


Best of KASHISH #2 is a curated program of some of the finest Indian LGBTQ films from the films that have won awards or appreciation at previous editions of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival. They showcase the diversity of Indian LGBTQ experience with humour, drama and lots of love.

 

The program contains 6 films and is for 108 mins and includes films in English, Hindi and Marathi. All films are subtitled in English.


There will be a 1 hour moderated Q&A with filmmakers of all the films.


A LITTLE MORE BLUE

A Little More Blue is the story of a girl, trapped inside the body of a boy. Since childhood she knew she was a girl and that someday she will have to break off her shackles and tell the truth to everyone.

Nandini is married to Rohit, a closeted gay man. Zoel, Rohit's partner, is an artist and aware of Nandini's suffocation. When Rohit plans to have a kid through IVF, so that Nandini will get busy in her life and it may release him of his guilt too, opposite to Rohit's expectations; Zoel feels disgusted and discards Rohit's intention of managing his life between him and Nandini.

Usha, a single mother who works as a farm labourer in rural India, finds herself drawn to a female teacher of local primary school, in ways she never knew possible. This attraction plays an important part, in firing her passion to read and write as she hopes to be as good as the teacher, one day.

Set in Mumbai, the plot follows two young men who regularly take the same local train home. Both are quiet and shy, but dare to come close enough to say something to each other, but just can't bring themselves to open their mouths.

On an eventful, rainy evening a young woman is on her way to see a young man she is dating. Along the way, she experiences bittersweet moments with a series of strangers, even as a storm brews inside her. Today, she has decided to reveal to the young man a heart-breaking truth about her past.

Your favourite festival will be back for its 11th edition - this time in a digital avatar as KASHISH 2020 Virtual.

It will be held from July 22nd to July 30th as a 9-day event screening 100+ films, panel discussions, opening & closing ceremonies with performances, etc.
