About the Event

24th Apr & 1st May | Sundays | 4pm to 6.30pm

Facilitator: Charankamal Singh Bedi

Duration: 2.5 hours

Bhangra is a folk dance from the State of Punjab. It has had humble, rural beginnings but now is recognised on a global level, not only due to its cultural essence but also due to its fitness benefits. So, if you are somebody who wants to- learn a new dance form or burn calories in a fun way or strengthen your Bhangra skills, then this is the session for you.

For a comfortable experience, it is recommended to have track pants and sports shoes on.

Charan has been a part of Bangalore for 10 years now. He started with his Bhangra journey about 3.5 years ago & ever since it has been a passion that helps him to channel out the inner energy. He has trained over 50+ people in Bhangra basics in the past 5 months alone and the process continues.

Contents of the workshop:

A session will have a main Punjabi song for which there'll be a certain number of Bhangra steps. Firstly, we will practice each step multiple times on a variety of Punjabi songs so that each participant has a good understanding and hold on the steps. Major part of the session will be spent on this activity. Then, towards the end of the session, we'll combine all the steps & practice them on the main song.
