About the Artform

Block printing is a technique of printing with wooden blocks on fabric. The repetitive nature of Indian block printing makes it unique and pleasing to the eye thereby making it is so popular worldwide. Block printing is an artform that is thousands of years old and carries within it rich history, tradition and design.


About the Masterclass

Overall Details

In this two-day masterclass, you will learn to print on paper and apparel (t-shirts, stoles, and running fabric). You will be learning to make colors and fix them permanently on fabric, techniques, and styles with block printing.

Join us in this aesthetic journey and try your hand at this artform! This is a beginner-friendly workshop that does not require any prior knowledge of any art form or even block printing. (Age 12+)

Day 1


  • Presentation (Introduction of the art form)
  • Demonstration by the instructor
  • Hands on with Printing on paper 
  • Hands on printing on a t-shirt

Day 2


  • Presentation and demonstration of techniques
  • Printing on a t-shirt and kurtis


Who is this workshop “just right” for?

  • This workshop is ideal for art lovers who want to try a new artform
  • No prior experience in block printing required 
  • It is a beginner friendly workshop. (Age 15+)


What your Material kit will contain

Materials at your doorstep


  • Red, Yellow & Blue dyes
  • 4 blocks
  • Tray
  • Tapi
  • Cloth for colors
  • Base
  • Ohp sheet

Other Materials Required:


  • A4 size paper (4 - 5 sheets)
  • Fabric (cotton in light colors or white)
  • Plain t-shirt
  • Stole or running fabric (1 meter)

Preparation for the Workshop:


  • Wear an apron for the workshop
  • Put a bedsheet on the table for a better surface to print
  • A plastic container and spoon
  • A small bucket of water and a small brush to wash the blocks
  • A napkin to wipe your hand

Note - (Paw block not included in standard kit, but can be added for additional towards checkout)
