Wanjiru Koinange is a writer, restorer of libraries and entrepreneur from Nairobi, Kenya. The Havoc of Choice follows Kavata, who has spent her life suffocated by political machinations, as her husband decides to run in the next election. Focusing on a single family, Koinange explores colonisation, corruption, class and clan in this evocative debut novel.
