About the event:

On Saturday 2nd December we'll explore Purana Qila one of Delhi's oldest forts also recognised as Shergarh or Sher Fort due to Sher Shah Suri's initiation of its construction. With a history spanning 2500 years excavations at the site reveal artifacts from the pre-Mauryan era. Believed to be situated on the grounds of the ancient Indraprastha the capital of the Pandavas according to the Mahabharata this 1.5 km-long fort boasts three gateways – Bada Darwaza Humayun Darwaza and Talaqqi Darwaza. Each double-story gate features expansive semi-circular bastions flanking its sides.

Join us as we delve into the intricate details of each monument and dynasty during this enriching exploration.

- Khair-ul Manzil Mosque

- Bada Darwaza

- Talaqqi Darwaza

- Humayun Darwaza

- Sher Mandal

- Qila-e-kuhna Mosque

- Hammam Khana

- Remains at the site.

Best way to reach:

Please reach out at the meeting point by 1:45 PM. The nearest metro station is Khan Market(Violet Line). Take an auto from the metro station towards the National Zoo and you will be at the destination. Public buses and cabs are also an option. Purana Quila has an Adequate Parking space near the Zoo for those in their vehicles.
