On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and United Nations International Day of non-violence, Sarvodaya International Trust and India International Centre present Dastan-e-Gandhi. Fouzia Dastango and Fazal Rashid will be doing a narration of Gandhiji’s life in the tradition of dastangoi.

Dastan-e Gandhi is a celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's life in the stylized prose and inimitable narration of dastangoi. It contains stories of his early days in England and South Africa; excerpts from his historical speeches; humorous anecdotes from his life and much Urdu poetry from the freedom movement. This dastan will make Gandhi and the Independence Movement exciting and relevant once again for a contemporary audience.

This will be followed by a 12 minute musical rendition by the students of Springsdale School.
