About the Artform

Folk art covers all forms of visual art made in the context of folk culture. Definitions vary, but generally the objects have practical utility of some kind, rather than being exclusively decorative. Works of folk art are culture specific and tend to reflect items that are functional as well as decorative, which is one reason folk art differs fundamentally from fine art.

About the workshop

This is a special storytelling art workshop designed for children above the age of 10. A short story from the Panchatantra will be narrated and based on the story, you will learn to create a book cover using folk art forms.

Materials Required

Drawing book/ Cartridge paper

Pencil, eraser, ruler (basic stationery)

Color pencils/ watercolor paints

Black waterproof liner

* For watercolor make sure the paper is thick enough and the black pens should be waterproof.
