About the Artform

The origin of Macramé is generally attributed to Arabic weavers of the 13th century. They used decorative knots to put together the loose ends of hand-woven textiles. However, decorative knot-tying can also be traced back to third-century China on ceremonial textiles as well as wall hangings.

Macrame is the art of knotting yarns into beautiful pieces and textiles. While macrame is popular in the field of home decor, these days it has also found its place in lifestyle products and fashion.

About the Workshop

This workshop will introduce you to the calming art of Macrame. You will understand what the fundamental knots of the art are, which are used in making different objects.

You will also see how Macrame is beneficial as a physical as well as a mental exercise. Further, you will learn how to make an alluring hanging lamp using Macrame techniques, under expert guidance!

• 9” metal ring
• 1.5” metal ring,
• 1 bundle of 80 mtr precut cords 
• 1 bundle of 40 mtr cord
• Adhesive
• Bulb holder
• 1.5 mtr wire and plug (all assembled)
