About the Event
Celebrate Daan Utsav, the joy of giving week, this October with Project Mumbai's "The Mumbai Plastic Recyclothon".
Over the last few months, the pandemic has resulted in increased use of plastics. With home deliveries of groceries and essentials comes more plastic bags and packaging. Wondering what to do with the plastic packaging at home?
Project Mumbai’s Recyclothon is here to help you recycle your plastics into public use amenities, such as park benches and garbage bins. Not only will they send this for recycling to help protect our environment from plastic pollution, but they will also donate an equivalent weight of groceries to less privileged households.
So do collect the plastic waste from your home, work place and residential area, because for every kilo of plastic you donate, you not only help the planet but help share food with for those in need.
What can you Contribute?
You can contribute the below plastic materials:
- Wrappers
- Cans
- Bags
- Bottles
- Tetra pack
- Thermocool
- Any other type of plastic
Please clean the plastic and squeeze, crush, compress as much as possible. Keep the items for donation in a neatly stacked bag/carton ready for drop off.
Safety Measures
In the interest of health and safety for everyone involved - if your residence or building is sealed due to COVID-19, please do not sign up for this collection drive.
