As the first event in this series celebrating two classical dance forms of India, the evening will feature a renowned classical dance form of the South – Bharatanatyam – alongside a dance form of the North – Kathak.

With distinct origins and unique trajectories of development, the solo performances will showcase traditional repertoire, while the Bharatanatyam-Kathak duet will highlight the unique characteristics of both styles simultaneously.

The Dual Margam series curates two classical dance forms of India to emphasize their similarities and differences.

The solo performances honor the traditional repertoire (Margam), while the duet presents a dynamic juxtaposition of each unique form against the other.
