The Globetrotter`s Footprints organises Duur er Dugga 3, Season 7, The Bonedi Bari Puja Parikrama in the district of Bengal on Dashami, 24th Oct, 2023.

In our "Duur er Dugga 3" Puja Parikrama of the districts, we will visit The Serampore Rajbari, in the Hooghly district of Bengal. Dashami is the day of Maa Durga`s return to her Himalayan abode in Kailash. It is the day when the Bengalees bid adieu to the goddess with heavy heart. So does the Serampore Rajbari family. Here the puja is being celebrated for 338 years. We will join and experience their typical traditional Dashami puja, and rituals of Kanakanjali, Matri Boron, Sindurkhela and bisarjan in the Ganges. 

The Rajbari is also an architectural splendour. The Courtyard area with the Corinthean pillars known as Chandni, is the historical place, where the famous "kabigaan er lorai" or the musical duel between Anthony Firingi and Bhola Moira was staged. 

Several movies like "Nishithey" of Uttam Kumar, recent movies like "Bhoot er Bhobishyot" are shot here. 

We will also roam around the historical town of Serampore which was a colony of Denmark and still has some beautiful Danish architectures standing tall as witnesses of a bygone era.
