As part of The Quarter’s artist in residence programme, acclaimed Indian and international acts present a pair of one-night-only concerts at the Royal Opera House and Live at the Quarter at which you get to hear them in ways you’ve never heard them before. The fourth instalment of the series will be helmed by French jazz trumpet player Erik Truffaz, who is renowned for fusing diverse styles such as electronic music, rock and hip-hop in his compositions. At the Royal Opera House, Truffaz will collaborate with two sets of Indian musicians. During the first half of the show, Truffaz and pianist Louiz Banks aka godfather of Indian jazz, backed by the rhythm section of drummer Gino Banks and bassist Sheldon D’Silva, will perform a selection of their own tunes. In the second half, Truffaz will join forces with ambient electronic music producer Riatsu aka Shadaab Kadri, percussionist Anand Bhagat and multi-instrumentalist Neil Gomes in an alchemy of ideas that is sure to result in sonic gold. This performance is part of the BONJOUR INDIA festival, organised by the Institut Français in India and Embassy of France in India.
