GURU ABHIVAADAN - A Musical Tribute

Kailas Sangeet Trust and SOUTH INDIAN BANK present GURU ABHIVAADAN - A Classical Music Tribute Concert, to honor the legendary Acharya Bimalendu Mukherjee.

The program features a repertoire of three concerts featuring both established and upcoming musical exponents in a dazzling three-hour online concert - streamed in high-definition for a musically immersive experience.

ARTISTS:

ABHISHEK BORKAR, a young, versatile musician from a musically rich family, initially underwent training in vocal and tabla at age four - before anchoring himself on the sarod, under the tutelage of his father and Guru Pt. Shekhar Borkar, under the Maihar Senia Gharana.

MEHTAB ALI NIAZI, one of the finest young sitar players emerging on the Indian classical music scene, started training under his father Ustad Mohsin Ali Khan when he was four years old. He belongs to the very famous Bhendi Bazar Gharana.

PANDIT RAGHUNANDAN PANSHIKAR began learning music at age eleven under the tutelage of the late Pandit Vasantrao Kulkarni. Later he went on to train with the doyenne of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana, Gaan Saraswati Smt. Kishori Amonkar and mastered, many aspects of the Jaipur-Atrauli style such as akaar, ådazzling taans, and intricacies of layakari.
