Haiku-Like Imagination

Haiku-Like Imagination is a 5 piece post-hardcore / math rock band based out of Bangalore, India. The idea behind the band is a cohesion of pop-esque melodies with absurd, yet intricate rhythm structures. A powerhouse of dynamic polyrhythmic drum sections, melodic bass lines, twin guitar harmonies, robust screams combined with melancholic clean vocals and glitchy, dissonant breakdowns is a subtle description of their music. The music fiddles with extremities of happiness and chaos, symbolically representing the dynamics of life in itself. They aim to simplify the seemingly complicated progressive music genre and reach out to everyone while simultaneously catering to niche audiences as well.

Haiku’s musical influences vary from The Physics House Band to Algernon Cadwallader and LITE. They derive rhythmic inspiration from Mars Volta and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Their debut album, “Eat Lead Motherbuzzer” was released on 13th April and is available now on on all streaming platforms across the world. Their debut single “Hey Dynamics!” features Masayuki Takao from the Japanese metal band “Cyclamen” on guitars, and released exclusively on Rolling Stone India in May.

Gentle and savage by turns, Stuck In November sounds like the soundtrack to watching a sped-up film of flowers opening up. Most music contrived from rock, or pop, following a set number of bars, and basic cheesy chord changes, guitar solos and boring vocal melodies with meaningless lyrics, probably caused the sound of this band, because we’d like to do anything far from that. You might feel a tingle in parts of your brain, you never knew were there to begin with.
