This workshop brings together the art of sketching, observing and celebrating the magnificence of India. From the food to the monuments, dances to the traffic, various facets about India that will get you sketching in these guided sessions, one sketch at a time.

Learn techniques to simplify complex scenes, breakdown of geometry, pen & ink illustrations, through India-specific subjects. The day wise sketching schedule is as follows:

Day 1: Indian Font Lettering + Food

• Creating Fonts and lettering in Indian Style
• Indian Food illustrations, famous foods of india

Day 2: Marketplace + Landscapes

• Sketching a typical Indian marketplace scene
• Sketching Indian landscape scene

Day 3: Transport + Animals

• Creating illustrations of transport most common in India
• Illustrating Animals symbolic of India

Day 4: Monuments + Dance & Arts

• Sketching Famous Indian Monument
• Exploring Dance and Arts of India

Day 5: Monuments & Vintage items

• Sketching Famous Indian Monuments
• Illustrating Vintage Indian artifacts

The workshop comprises of a series of 5 sessions from 11 August to 15 August from 7-8:30 pm IST. Check the ticket options to choose a specific day or all 5 days of this workshop. Workshop is applicable for all age groups with minimum age criteria of 10 years.

About facilitator:

Salmaan is an architect and illustrator from Chennai, with over 8 years experience in sketching, particularly on location and live, with pen and ink medium. A traveler who never forgets to carry his sketchbook and pens along, his work has collection of sketches made by him on locations across the country. He shares his knowledge and learnings with aspiring sketchers through workshops.
