About the Event
Karwar is a port city present in the South Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated between Sahyadri’s evergreen forest in the east, the blue Arabian Sea to the west, towards the south it ends with a harbour, and to its North, lies the beautiful Kali river. Eco-tourism thrives here since it is one of the cities with a green cover. The hills have created a natural harbour with protection against wind and sea tides.
Karwar is the place where the legendary writer Late. Shri Rabindranath Tagore first penned his poems. He was greatly impressed by the beauty of Karwar, that he quoted it to be the Kashmir of Karnataka.
It is just another paradise where the Western Ghats directly plunge into the Arabian sea.
The city is known for its clear blue beaches, calmness, and islands. A boat ride to Elephant, Turtle and Lighthouse islands are great to start with. Major attractions include Rabindranath Tagore beach, INS Chapel museum, Aquarium and Sadashivgad fort. A trek to Flamingo island and Tilmati beach will leave you with timeless memories.
