Kisse is about telling fantastic tales, like that of Arabian nights. Every culture has its own tradition of rendering ‘fantasia’ and this one is a package from India.

 This is the story made out of stories created traditionally. In this play, there is (1) a street vendor fabricating stories while selling indigenous medicines; (2) the popular legendary birds—Tota (parrot) & Maina—interpreting stories and events; (3) a child’s play-rhyme depicting a passage through loss and recovery of a seed; (4) the kissa-go or royal story teller who has to tell a new Kissa (Story) every night to make his master sleep; (5) the legend of a wandering Faqir (holy man) who brought prosperity and made a mosque from out of a single seed; and (6) a story by grandma inspiring the new generation to go across the seven seas and difficult terrains to recover the seed from the clutches of a demon. The common thread binding the sub-plots is a tiny seed.
