Kavita Subramaniam née Kavita Krishnamurthy (born Sharada
Krishnamurthy) is a notable Indian film playback singer. She is best known
as a Bollywood playback singer. She has lent her voice to several Indian
actresses and has also sung some very popular Hindi film songs.
Kavita Krishnamurthy was born in the capital of India, New Delhi. Her
father was an official working with the Education Ministry. She began her
music training with her aunt, Mrs. Bhattacharya who taught her Rabindra
Sangeet. As she completed her training, she began her formal training in
Hindustani classical music under the aegis of Sri. Balram Puri. At the age of
eight, she won her first gold medal at a music competition. Subsequently,
she won gold medals as she participated in the Inter-Ministry Classical
Competition in New Delhi in the mid 1960s.
Sudesh Bhonsle is an accomplished Indian playback singer. He was born to
N.R.Bhosle and Sumantai Bhosle. Sudesh had a natural gift for mimicry
from an early age and he cultivated it at the behest of his friends in college.
He is widely known for his ability to mimic Amitabh Bachchan. Sudesh
Bhonsle got his first major break in playback singing in the film Zalzala
(1988). He used his talent for mimicry to become a professional dubbing
artist for several artists like Sanjeev Kumar and Anil Kapoor. He actually
dubbed for Sanjeev Kumar when he died prematurely before completing
the film Professor ki Padosan. Sudesh is currently the producer and judge
on K For Kishore a singing contest on Sony Entertainment Television.
Amit Kumar was born on 03-07- 1952 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is an Indian
Playback Singer, Film Actor, Music Director, Film Director, Film Producer, Music Producer, Musician & Singer who known for his work in Bollywood and Bengali films.
Amit Kumar was interested in music from an early age and he used to
perform at
Durga Puja celebrations. His father legendary Kishore Kumar introduced him to the world of acting while he was just 11 years old in his films Door Ka Rahi and Door
Gagan Ki Chhao Mein. Famous song Aa Chalke Tujhe Me Dikhlau from the film
Door Gagan Ki Chhao Me was picturised on him. He made his singing
debut with a
song in Door Ka Rahi. For the first time in his career, he got an
opportunity sing
apart from his father’s production in the film, Darwaza and the song
was Hosh Mein
Hum Kahan. He garnered numerous accolades by singing RD Burman’s
composed
song "Bade Achchhe Lagte Hain" from the film Balika Badhu in the year
1976. He
sang few duets with Lata Mangeshkar like "Dekh Mausam Keh Raha
Hai" and "Uthe
Sabke Kadam" and with Asha Bhosle sang a duet “Dhal Din Kaise”. All t hese songs
garnered him national fame.
Shabbir Kumar started his music career with the stage show Ek Shaam Rafi
Ke Naam, a tribute to Mohammed Rafi. Shabbir claims that when he
attended Rafi's funeral in 1980, his pen fell into Rafi's open grave. He
interpreted the incident as a divine message that he was to be Rafi's
successor. Music director Usha Khanna gave Shabbir Kumar a break in the
film Tajurba (1981). Shabbir got a major break, when the director
Manmohan Desai, who was looking for a Rafi substitute, noticed him
recommended him to music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal (L-P). Within
a few days, L-P gave Shabbir Kumar songs in the film Coolie, which was
released in 1983. Shabbir's first released film with L-P was Main Intequam
Loonga. Shabbir Kumar was first noted for a duet with Lata Mangeshkar,
Shaam Hai Ye Kuch Khoyi Khoyi from Prem Tapasya (1983). Music director
Anu Malik got him to sing for Rajeev kapoor in his debut film Ek Jaan Hain
Hum (1983). Shabbir Kumar was acknowledged as a leading playback
singer with the film Betaab. Music director Rahul Dev Burman got him to
sung all the five songs for Sunny Deol. Also, in 1983, Coolie was released, in
which L-P had given him all the seven songs, six for Amitabh Bachchan,
and one for Rishi Kapoor.
Aziz made his film debut in a Bengali language film, Jyoti. He came to Mumbai in 1984, with
references from a producer's relative. His first Hindi film was Ambar (1984). Aziz started out his
musical career as a singer in the restaurant Ghalib in Kolkata. He got a break when the music
director Anu Malik got him to sing the song Mard Taangewala for the movie Mard, starring
Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. People thought it was a Shabbir Kumar's song and the song
became a hit and Aziz became a popular singer, and was patronised by leading music directors
including Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Rahul Dev Burman, Naushad, O. P.
Nayyar, Bappi Lahiri, Rajesh Roshan, Usha Khanna, Anand-Milind, Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin
Lalit, Anu Malik, Damodar Raao, Anand Raj Anand and Aadesh Shrivastava.
Aziz is busy in the Odia film industry. He has sung several Odia bhajans, private albums, and
Odia film songs since 1985. Some of his Odia bhajans (Lord Jagannath's Bhajans) are famous.
He has performed stage shows in India and abroad, and has been nominated twice for best male
playback singer award. Mohd. Aziz was very close to Laxmikant Pyarelal; After Laxmi-Pyare, his
career went down and other music directors took to other singers such as Kumar Sanu, Udit
Narayan. At his peak, he was considered an heir to Mohd. Rafi. He is one of the rare singers who
can sing at the 7th note (saatwan sur) - example being his song, "Saare Shikawe Gile Bhulaa Ke
Kaho". Laxmi-Pyare recognized his potential very early and repeated him in a lot of their movies.
Shailendra Singh was born on 04-10- 1952 in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra,
India. He is an Indian Playback Singer, Singer & Musician who known for his singing
in Bollywood and Marathi films. Shailendra Singh was born in a Punjabi Family. He
studies at Hill Grange High School and graduated from St. Xavier’s College,
Mumbai. After graduation, he joined the Film and Television Institute of India to take
training in acting. He made his Bollywood debut as a singer through the movie
Bobby. He was still in 2nd year at the FTII when he sang in the movie Bobby. Singh
did not have a much successful career. He sang in several Hindi and few Marathi
songs in the 70s and 80s. He sang in many movies like Bobby, Do Jasoos,
AapkiKhatir, Aar Par, Ab Kya Hoga, KhattaMetha, Amar Akhbar Anthony,
AmiriGaribi, Amma, BegunahQuaidi, Sagar, BholeShanker and many more. It was
said that his voice most suited to Rishi Kapoor.
