About the Artform

The art of Mehendi has had its presence for over 5000 years now. The paste leaves a temporary color on the skin. Henna paste symbolizes good health and prosperity in all auspicious occasions including marriage, and in some cultures, the darker the henna stain, the deeper the love between two individuals. Different designs can be made using this paste. Henna is most widely used for body art, temporary tattoos, hair coloring, and is the adornment of the bride in an Indian wedding.
