About the Event

Mud and Mirror work also known as Lippan Kaam, is a traditional mural craft of Kutch, Gujarat. Lippan or mud-mirror work is done using materials locally available in the region like a mixture of clay and camel dung which keeps the interiors of the houses cool. Mostly done by women of the Rabari community, these scintillating murals bring life, gaiety and beauty to their generally harsh life.

Artist Kamalrukh will help you master this art with step-by- step instructions on a canvas with the help of clay and cut mirror “Abla”.  You can either do a “Name plate” on a wooden board (with hooks) or select any design from a variety of choices to do it on a canvas.

Artist Kamalrukh will help you master this art with step-by- step instructions. Come-sip- paint- munch and take home this beautiful masterpiece. You can also visit Artist Kamalrukh Gotla’s Facebook page or Instagram to see how she conducts her workshops. The cost of the workshop is inclusive of art supplies alongwith Food and beverages worth Rs.300.
