Madhubani is ritual content for particular occasions, such as birth or marriage, and festivals, such as Holi, Surya Shasti, Kali Puja, Upanayana, and Durga Puja. The Madhubani painting is said to be one of the most famous art forms that originated from India. It is often practised by people in the region of Nepal and Bihar. The Madhubani painting is also popularly referred to as the Mithila art. These paintings often have characteristics like complex geometrical patterns. This particular type of art was used by the women to decorate their house walls and doors so as to seek God’s blessing for peace and prosperity.
