Laura initiates you to Sidi Larbi's world of creativity through a repertory piece and an assignment exercises (for ex. his methods of changing text into choreography or playfully make actors move with your whole body). In the second half of the masterclass, we look at how Laura's own contemporary dance style of moving, got influenced by Indian classical and traditional dance styles by the last 18 years. For this part we will learn a short choreography of her latest work.

|| About the Artist

Laura started her journey in the contemporary dance world as a twelve year old in an Alain Platel production, where she met Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui as a young dancer. This meeting resulted in a long collaboration, starting with his successful first production Rien de Rien. Afterwards, she was a part of his other productions, including Foi, Myth, Adams Appels, Das Rheingold, Siegfried, Götterdämmerung and Anna Karenina (Sidi Larbi’s first movie choreography). Apart from being a performer, she also worked as a rehearsal director and choreographer in his company, Eastman.
