About the Event

Millets were once India's stable diet: healthy, nutritious, and growing even in drought-like conditions, they benefit consumers, farmers as well as the environment.


In this workshop, Pallavi Upadhyaya from Millets for Health will introduce you not only to the benefits of millet, but to the art of preparing different millet varieties in a yummy experience for your palate.


She will answer questions like:


- What are the different types of millets and what do they look like?


- How are millets good for environment?


- How to cook different types of millets?


- How can we include millet in our daily meal and how to substitute it for rice or wheat?


Together, we will prepare our millets-based lunch, including:


- Bajra Patty


- Millet Pulav


- Millet Idlis


- popped Jowar


These recipes are especially beneficial if you need a gluten free diet or are diabetic.
