The Retros:

The Retros feature some of Chennai’s favourite musicians who have been rocking the music circuit for over 20 years. Long-time friends, musicians and retroheads Aakash, Anjana, Conrad, Rahul, Sid and Vikram banded together to salute the music that made them. Join The Retros in celebrating the songs that became anthems and the bands that became legends!

Aakash and Anjana are vocalists, and Aakash is also the guitarist of Chennai’s all-acoustic band Subject to Change. Entertaining audiences with their beautiful harmonies and a clean, vibey, all-acoustic sound for 16 years, S2C’s signature is reinventing the timeless 70s in their inimitable, groovy style. Known best for his classic rocker vox, Aakash also performs with Chennai’s favourites, Timmy Madhukar and Josh Mark Raj. Blending blues, grunge and classic rock in her vocal style, Anjana also plays with popular Chennai artists like Vikram Vivekanand and Blues Conscience. 

Conrad is one of the most sought after bass guitarists in the city of Chennai where he performs with many artists including IndoSoul, Orlando and the Medium Rare Band, Grey Shack and many more. A classical guitarist certified by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of music, Conrad is a self-taught bassist – his primary musical identity, a gifted vocalist, and composer. Conrad brings over 13 years of musical experience to the band.

Rahul has been tearing up the drums on stages for over 20 years. His early years were with Chennai’s well-known band No Idea, and he went on to tour with UK based Toccata. He also played with The Agenda, a contemporary jazz, soul and RnB outfit featuring Matt Littlewood, Mishko M'ba and Sunitha Sarathy, in addition to regular session work with leading composers from the tamil movie industry. 

Vivin Kuruvilla is a multifaceted talent whose journey spans the worlds of music and business. With a career spanning over two decade as a concert pianist, keyboard programmer, and performing artist, Vivin's passion for music has been a constant driving force since 2005. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Vivin has excelled in the corporate realm, serving as the National Head of Sales & Marketing at ProMusicals for the last decade as well. His unique blend of musical artistry and business acumen defines him as a true innovator in both fields.
