About the Event

Preeti Vangani's first book of poems Mother Tongue: Apologize is a collection of poetry that explores womanhood, family and sexual relationships. It navigates the physical and emotional aches of a disintegrating body as she chronicles her mother's illness and the familial experience of death and its aftermath. Packed with formally adventurous poems, the book journeys through an intimate loss in parallel to the awareness of the speaker's own sexuality.
