ABOUT THE WALK

We invite you all to come and spend the evening with us at the “Androon Shehr” (Walled City) of Shahjahanabad.

Delhi has served as the capital of several kingdoms (empires) and today it has become one of the greatest blends of Hindu, British and Mughal Architecture. Behind these walls, old “phataks”, “galis and kuchas” of the un-trodden lanes of Shahjahanabad, lie many Havelis (mansions), each with its own unique story to tell.

The aim of the walk is to allow you to feel and experience the tangible and intangible presence of Mughal Heritage that exists everywhere in this area, and to provide you with an enrichening feel of the history of this era. The walk will also give you a taste of the most delicious non-vegetarian food and desserts within the old city.

Havelis you will see: Havelis at Ajmere Gate, Ballimaran (Mirza Galib Haveli), Chawri Bazar, Churi Walan, Matia Mahal, Chitli Qabar, Sitaram Bazar, Kucha Pati Ram.

Food you can eat: Kheer, Chicken Soup, Seekh Kebabs, Rumali Roti, Shahi Tukda with homemade Ice cream, Fried & Roasted Chicken, Biryani, Roohafza Milk Shake, Jalebi, Faluda and Paan.
