Where : Keesara.

Keesaragutta is a hillock at the village of Keesara in Rangareddy District. It is famous for Ramalingeswara temple and the vast shrub forest with huge boulders and small small lakes.

The history of Keesara goes back to early Christian era. In fact it is the oldest inhabited place of Hyderabad city. The history of Hyderabad starts from the history of Keesara. Keesara was once the capital city of Vishnukundins dynasty. The ruins of old fort can be seen on the hill.As per the archeological excavations, some temples were built of brick of rock, rectangular structures with five cells and verandah.

On October 18, 2014, twelve idols of Jain Tirthankara dating back to the 4th-5th century were found near the temple steps at a depth of one foot which proves that Jainism co-existed along with Hinduism at Keesaragutta during the time of Vishnukundins in 4-5th century. There artifacts are displayed in the museum there. Below the hillock is a small pond where lotus and water lilies are in abundance.

The forest area around the hills has some Trees, herbs, Shrubs, and climbers. There are many rept

iles like the south asian chameleon, geckos and other lizards as well. There are few species of Butterflies and dragonflies. The boulders surrounding the hillock are challenging to climb and we will try some scrambling on them.

We will be enjoying the nature at its best in a campsite in front of a small lake, along with a campfire, barbecue and music. The next day we will do hiking and adventure activities like rappelling, valley crossing and sports climbing, followed by a swim in a lake and a boat ride.
