"PAHADINAMA"

Celebrating the enduring allure of mountains and the human wanderlust, “Pahadinama” by Neha Bahuguna is an original theatrical piece that blends humour and satire to offer a refreshing take on travel, tourism and mountain life.

The narrative follows the adventures of four mountain enthusiasts who are invited to a tourism fair by the Tourism department. While the journey is delayed, they regale each other with captivating travel tales at a cosy tea shop.

Through these anecdotes, the play explores the deep-rooted beliefs of mountain dwellers, the essence journeys in the hills, the evolving times and the contrasting local and contemporary perspectives on vital elements such as water, forests and land. “Pahadinama” approaches these weighty themes with a light-hearted touch, ensuring the audience’s easy connection with the play. Each folksong is meticulously crafted and thoughtfully paired with its respective story thus enhancing the nuanced emotional depth of the narrative.
