Ambrosia Theater Group's new play "Pankh Hote To Ud Jaati Re" is a Hindi drama adaptation of Tennessee Williams' play "The Glass Menagerie" by Vijay Raj and Gajraj Rao and directed by Manoj Verma.

The story of the play is about a rural middle class nuclear family in a village of Himachal Pradesh, who lives in suffocation, isolation, disorientation and discord with their own past life experiences. 

The story revolves around a mother, her son, Pratap and her handicapped daughter, Sukni. The karta of the house has left the family years ago in search of his own aspirations. Son Pratap is unhappy with his job and restless about the conditions around him. The whole family is dependent on Pratap's earnings. Pratap too lives in the imaginary world of dreams and cinema. Despite all this, Pratap is as indifferent to home and family as his father.

Pratap's mother, tries her best to make the house comfortable. Besides overcoming the financial situation, her concern is more about her daughter's marriage. On the other hand, daughter Sukni, detached from the society and family, protects the colorful wings of her dreams. Suddenly one day, Pratap's friend, Nirmal comes in her life and helps her highlight the overwhelming reality of her existence.
