About the Event

Indigo Mustard Art Project collaborates with established master artists with a vision to help grown-ups learn art the right way - offline, at ease and in the company of like-minded people. This time we invite you to take your pencil portrait skills a notch higher.

Creating striking pencil portraits doesn't require talent and interest alone, it also requires the right technical knowledge and lots of practise. Ability to correctly handle the humble PENCIL is the most basic skill required when you are interested in portraiture. The technical knowledge is critical as well, which includes understanding the various types of pencils and their usage, the different types of paper and knowing which paper pairs well with which pencils. An appreciation is also needed of the impact of environment on it. There are many different techniques of shading/rendering as well which can be used to recreate the feeling of depth (which is nothing but a play of light and shadow).

It all begins with the right guidance though, for which we are once again roping in a much sought after artist and teacher - Mr. Manoj Sakale. Manoj holds a Diploma in Art Education from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune and has won numerous awards in his career. His workshops are sought after by art lovers and art students alike because of his passion to teach the right way. He conducts his workshops in a manner that focuses on the student's learning rather than simply celebrating his artistic brilliance. He has conducted many demos and workshops including at the J J School of Arts, the Art Society of India, SNDT, Sanskar Bharti Mumbai and Pune to name a few.
