If you make art, you are an artist. It does not matter if the outcome is realistic, beautiful or not.  The medium you use or the surface you choose to create and express, is secondary. The point is that you are consciously putting in efforts to practice, improve and be your creative best.

This session by The Circular Square is to encourage and provide a platform to support this spirit.

Whether you are self taught, have just initiated practicing art, or are a professional artist, the session is applicable to all. All who are interested in drawing, sketching or painting live from diverse subjects, ranging from ‘tidy’ setups to those in disarray, will definitely find something of interest in the session. Participants can choose from any of the topics - still life, portraiture & plein air, and carry out as many projects as they wish, within the session duration.

This is an uninstructed session and so, is not a class or tutorial. Participants should determine their own method to approach the subjects presented. It is not necessary to be able to complete the artwork within the session, but it is important to make a start and an attempt.

Bring your art material, tools and sketchbooks or devices (for digital art). Limited drawing boards can be provided on request. Feel free to browse through our books collection (including Art books) and connect with fellow artists, while you are here.
