About the Event

Sangla Holi is a unique celebration of the Holi festival in the Sangla Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is part of the four-day Faguli Festival, and Holi is celebrated on the third day of the festival. The celebration takes place at the Nag Temple in Sangla Valley, where people gather to play Holi with dry colors and snow.

The festival is celebrated with unique traditions and customs, including dressing up in costumes and makeup as characters from the Ramayana and leading a procession from village to village. The attendees play with colors of gulaal, accompanied by the sounds of drums and trumpets, and the villagers dressed as mythological characters visit various villages on their march. The celebration also includes local wine flowing freely, and people dressed as characters from the epic Ramayana. Sangla Holi is a two-day festival that is celebrated with respect for culture and tradition in a jovial manner.
