Our meetings consist of a screening of an arthouse film, followed by a discussion. The discussion is led by one of our members or sometimes a guest speaker and encourages members to share their thoughts and interpretations of the film.

Curator's Note:

"In the Shadows" looks at the creatures in the fringes, the uglies, the rejects, and the "monsters". In it, we have "Eyes Without a Face" by Georges Franju. The film is a raving look at Dr Génessier's obsession with grafting faces on his daughter following an accident that would have disfigured her. 

Who are The Parallel Cinema Club?

We are a community-run film society based out of Bengaluru and Hyderabad. We are a group of film enthusiasts who meet up to discuss the real world, auteurs, and themes, and occasionally host guest lectures.
