Shiamak Davar is a renowned Indian choreographer, dancer, and singer; known for revolutionizing Indian contemporary dance and introducing it to the world stage. Shiamak began his career as a choreographer in the late 1980s and founded the Shiamak Davar Dance Company (SDC) in 1992. His unique style of choreography blends Indian classical and contemporary dance forms with Western dance styles, making it accessible and appealing to a wide audience. Shiamak has worked with numerous Bollywood celebrities and has choreographed for many Bollywood films, stage productions, and international shows, including the Commonwealth Games in 2006 and the IIFA Awards. In addition to his choreography, Shiamak is also a trained singer and has released several albums, including "Shabop" and "Mohabbat Kar Le." He has also been involved in various charitable organizations, including his own Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts, which provides dance education to underprivileged children in India. Shiamak Davar has received several awards and honors for his contributions to the performing arts, including the National Film Award for Best Choreography in 1999 and the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honors, in 2011.
