About the Event

Inclusions of the event:


  1. Knitting and Crochet competition: Here you will witness the proficiency and creativity of women artisans. Their fingers function like machines, weaving intricate patterns and designs into fabrics, creating beautiful handicrafts, and transforming raw materials into works of art.
  2. Cultural Walk by Locals: We believe that this cultural walk is an important aspect of our festival, as it provides a platform for our villagers to showcase their heritage and celebrate their identity. It also provides an opportunity for our visitors to learn about our culture and appreciate the diversity and richness of our community.
  3. Dress up in Pattu competition: In this competition, locals will dress up visitors in Pattu. Pattu is a traditional dress worn by the people of Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. The ones who are quick and neat will win prizes. This is a chance for visitors to experience an authentic local experience and immerse yourself in Kulavi culture.
  4. Own Your Challenge: "Own your laptop" will be continuing this year as part of the flagship festival, Shobla Bana, This initiative aims to provide digital education opportunities to young students from underprivileged backgrounds in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh.
  5. Painting Competition: This is an opportunity for young artists to showcase their creativity and for the visitors to appreciate their talent.

Instructions

Shobla Bana is organised by Civic Help & Progress Foundation (CHAP) every year in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is an important community-based celebration of the cultural diversity of Kullu region, promotes local artisans, and offers a unique cultural experience for visitors. 


What does Shobla Bana mean?

In the Kulavi language (spoken in Kullu district) ‘Shobla Bana’ means ‘Beautiful Fashion’. It is a celebration inspired by the local community and culture.
