Think poetry, jazz and singer-songwriters. That's Namit Das + Anurag Shanker - a collaboration that’s rooted in Indian tradition but looks out with an edge of attitude and a modern, contemporary vision.

Exclusively coming to the living room of Harkat Studios, they invite you to listen to their exquisite songs - bringing poetry back to life.

Opening this musical evening are Curls and Beards, an upcoming duo known for unplugged folk covers of our favorite songs.

The artists:

Namit Das, more famous for his acting skills and a well known face in Indian cinema and theatre circuits, finally answers his calling as a singer and more importantly, composer. Originating from a family of old musical traditions, he applies his musical upbringing to compose and perform songs that are raw, beautifully simple, and emotionally moving, all in a traditional 'light classical' style of music from India, which is a big part of Indian culture.

Anurag Shanker, a producer and guitar player who has worked on an array of projects spanning several genres such as blues, funk, live electronica, traditional Indian folk etc. met Namit Das and his compositions to give them a colour like no other with his jazz/blues infused melodic and rhythmic arrangements, and also brought in a stellar band to perform on the debut EP. Results can be heard on an exceptional release that has been getting some overwhelming reviews from fans and press alike. In addition, they played their debut gig at NH7, Pune to an audience of 2000 + and a superb response!

Curls And Beards is a duo with John Soans and Sharvari Deshpande. Curls And Beards was born out of the discoveries they made about themselves as individuals and as a couple over the years of growing up together. They hope to translate the love they feel for each other unto the world through their music. They cover songs on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.
