Sound of Women is a grassroots music project by Krantinaari (Ashwini Hiremath) and Charu Hariharan, born from the radical belief that hip-hop is folk. After co-founding India’s first all-female hip-hop crew, Wild Wild Women, Krantinaari set out on a deeper journey—travelling across 47 regions of India, where she witnessed women forbidden from even touching instruments. What began as a question—Why are women missing from the music scene?—turned into a movement.

Prior to the performance will be the Folk Soul Gathering. An immersive exhibition celebrating homegrown artistry. Step into a soulful space where indie brands showcase their craft—from visual art, jewellery, handmade textiles and natural beauty products to upcycled fashion and artisanal goods. Meet the makers, listen to their stories, and take home something meaningful. More than a marketplace, it's a gathering of kindred spirits—artists, musicians, creators, and conscious consumers—connecting through music, storytelling, and sustainable design. Expect intimate jam sessions, live art, interactive workshops, and powerful conversations.

The G5A Warehouse Performance Grant enables independent performance artists and practitioners to showcase their work at the G5A warehouse. Taking another step towards our belief in creating a culturally vibrant society that enables dignity for all, the performance grant was born out of our commitment to nurturing creativity, excellence, and resilience, with a focus on non-mainstream cultural practitioners.
