Street photography is interesting, captivating and even thrilling at times. It seems quite intimidating at first, but it gets really exciting once you start doing it regularly. The reason for this is the streets will no longer be the same for you. The same old lanes you have been through every single day of your life will appear different. They will start presenting you with several subjects which were never present before. Your view of the world will change and with it, your streets!

Gone are the days when people always liked to pose for photographs. These days, they are often bored by the traditional style. Candid photography is rising every day simply because of the fact that candid shots look very natural and capture expressions that would otherwise have been missing. Even in event and wedding photography, candid is often the order of the day.

About Colaba Causeway

Colaba is in Mumbai's southernmost peninsula. Colaba is a bustling district packed with street stalls, markets, resto-bars and various lodging facilities. This is the one place in Mumbai which seems like a carnival the entire year. When you want to shop for anything under the sun, this is the place to be. This place is famous for handicrafts, books, jewellery, crystals, brass items, incense and clothing. When you are shopping here, be on your heels all the time! Sift, bargain, shop and repeat!

Colaba Causeway is one of the expensive street markets in Mumbai. At a stone’s throw from the famous tourist attractions like Gateway of India and Taj Hotel, it stretches over several metres flooded with all kinds of goods which hold artistic value. Surely, it’s a great place for local public as well as tourists who come here because of its location in Southern Mumbai area. If you move more towards south, there lies Cuffe Parade (one of the poshests of the residential areas). Not only Indians but many foreigners throng this market because it lies close to the famous Taj Mahal Palace hotel.

As they say, it’s not very difficult to find something here which inherits a unique value of some kind. It’s not only a backpackers’ paradise, it is also a home of many age-old cafes like Cafe Mondegar and Leopold Cafe and Restaurant where one can take a break from the noisy street.
