This is the first workshop in a series of 3 workshops focussing on understanding Horology, the art of making time pieces. In a world where nothing is untouched by technology, where every gadget becomes obsolete every 18 months, a time piece promises to stay with you forever and perhaps outlive you. Such is the Art, after all, it is what lives far and beyond. Be it the ancient drawing on mountains by the stone-age man or the art created by the modern era artists.

This is a one of its kind workshop taking you through the journey of watchmaking, some of the top brands and what ebbs and flows they have been through. It is also the telling of brands and their journey through time, in telling time, and becoming an instrument for possessing an aficionado’s attention.

In this engagement, the participants will learn about the existence and journeys of the holy trinity of Horology (PP>VC>AP) and the master of all A Lange and Söhne. They will also learn about the genesis of watchmaking in Switzerland, how did the first wrist watch come to being, the Quartz movement of the 70s and the ups and downs the industry has witnessed. It is an exciting narrative, will surely make you marvel at the life the industry has had and, why not.

Deepak Tomar is an horology aficionado and a collector. He began his journey in horology in 2014. Since then it has become a reason for him to connect with more and more amazing individuals who have a passion and a keen interest. By profession he is a Banker. This engagement has nothing to do with the world of corporates however. It promises to be fun and exploratory. Can I say that about the former?! Let me think ;)

Deepak is a keen observer of Men’s style too. He is always interested in working on new styles for Gents. The interest in all things Sartorial and Horological takes all his attention, much to dismay for his friends :D
