The Dam Jawn is a band consisting of five musicians from the Amsterdam Jazz scene who met through a shared experience in the United States. They found their collective voice by composing and arranging their own original music inspired by the jazz scene from the city of Philadelphia. Although all five live and are active in Amsterdam, the Quintet is very international. Martín Díaz (alto sax) and Joan Fort (guitar) were born in Barcelona, Spain. Philip Lewin (bass) in Stuttgart, Germany and Nitin Parree (drums), as well as Frank Groenendijk (tenor saxophone), are from the Netherlands. 

 The Dam Jawn have come together and shaped their own sound, inspired by the energy and feeling of today's Philadelphia Jazz scene, as well as its rich musical past.
