About the Event
An online performance platform for movement artists to come forward and share their stories through dance, with the audience, to create a theatrical experience for one and all brought to you by 'The Movement Hub' which is a space created for all things movement.
The line up for this time includes some amazing dancers, Namely :
- Somya Kautia - Somya Kautia is a graduate of the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center, New York. She started dancing at India Dans Theater, New Delhi, India in 2010, where she obtained a Diploma in Dance. Somya has a combined teaching experience of 8 years in Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary.
- Mukta Nagpal - Started traininf at the Terence Lewis Academy and after she finished her Diploma in Dance in 2015, she continued to train in Ballet under Mr. Butch Godito, a ballet master from Phillipines. Also pursuing Contemporary floorwork. Mukta also travelled to Russia and did a short term training with the popular Dmitry Akimenko in 2019 in his style of Floorwork and has been experimenting with that vocabulary ever since.
- Tanuj Nair - Tanuj aka NOW is a freestyle dancer, a movement lover and a teacher of HipHop. Originally a native of Kerala, he currently resides in Mumbai. Representing the well known street all-style crew Fauj and Famous Family, he has been pursuing this art from the past 8yrs.
- Venkatesh - He started learning dance from YouTube as a hobby at an young age after which he joined FeelCrew around 2015-16. He has also completed Dance Maharashtra Dance and Dance Plus S4 with FeelCrew and is Currently a Member/Choreographer of FeelCrew
- Ishita Mili -Ishita Mili is a Bengali American choreographer based in New Jersey. From the age of 5, she began training in Bharatnatyam under Smt. Sudha Devulapalli and Indian Contemporary Fusion under Kolkata-based Sukalyann Bhattacharya, later transitioning to hip hop under UFP Dance Company. After extensively studying a variety of dance styles, Ishita created her own holistic movement language inspired by her various roots. Ishita founded IMGE in 2017.
- Dev Narayan Gupta - Dev Narayan Gupta is primarily self taught. He is also the choreographer of Full stop Crew, Kolkata, India. With FullStop I have trained in all street styles like Popping, Locking, Krump, litefeet, hiphop etc and house which is a club style. Dev believes in training in all styles to understand and apply different movement to different music with a much deeper pocket.
- Pooja Radhakrishnan - Pooja Radhakrishnan is a graduate with a First Class Bachelors Degree in Dance and Arts and Festivals Management (Joint) Honours of De Montfort University, U.K. She started off her journey as a Bharatanatyam dancer in U.S. and also trained in Contemporary, African Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop.Pooja is currently a performer in Itthā Dance Theatre's upcoming production, 'Hurriya.' while also working for Absolute Bollywood, London having worked at Pineapple Studios in London with them
- Jainil Mehta - Jainil Mehta, a 20-year old from Mumbai, India is currently a BFA student at the prestigious USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Los Angeles and is pursuing his bachelor’s in dance. He has completely invested himself in this art form for over 15 years.He has choreographed and designed three productions in Mumbai: Chimera- A Dream, Alankar- The Little Jewels and DECODED. He has trained under renowned Western choreographers William Forsythe, Jodie Gates, Azsure Barton, Barak Marshall, Desmond Richardson, Christian, Vincent, Saleemah Knight and Moncell Durden to name a few.
- Kunaal Sangtani - Kunaal is a Mumbai based Jazz funk and contemporary dancer. Having trained an taught at L’infini performing arts academy as a senior instructor for 4 years, he decided to further his studies at the Northern school of contemporary dance in 2017, in Leeds,UK. He furthered his training by attending the MASA program with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, 2018-19. Kunaal is the founder of the ‘Movement Hub’ which aims at promoting movement for one and all and developing Mumbai as one of the biggest movement/dance hubs in the world. He is also the founder of ‘The New Movement Collective’ a contemporary performance company.
