About the Event
The gregarious flowering of Karvi (Carvia Callosa) happens once every eight years in the Western Ghats. Witness the miracle unfold again this year, just when the monsoons are winding up.
Let us celebrate this wonder of nature through a festival of music, art, poetry, food, story-telling, nature walks and events with child-centric themes. In fact the list could be endless. The idea is to celebrate all life affirming creative energies and connect with nature.
Why?
The world of today suffers from what has been termed aptly as ‘Nature Deficit Disorder'. Karvi festival gives a pretext to come close to the much overlooked wilderness in our hearts!
Where?
Nestled in the Western Ghats, the twin hill stations of Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. This region is famous for its rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, also the source of River Krishna and Koyna.
