CHANDERA TAAL TREK

Chandra Taal (meaning the Lake of the Moon), or Chandra Tal, is situated at an altitude of about 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in the Himalaya. Mountains of scree overlook the lake on one side, and a magnificent cirque presents a view on the other. The name of the lake originates from its crescent shape. Situated in the Spiti part of the Lahul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh(India, Chandra Taal is a popular destination for trekkers and campers

Day 01: MANALI to Chhika (3000 m)

Today vehicle will pic us from hotel and drop us at Jobrinala from where the trek will start .

Chhika is Situated on a grassy bank slopping down from the cliffs, camp site is an ideal location for the end of the day. Today’s trek is gradually up hill climb.

Day 02: Chhika to Balu Ghera (3800 m)

Todays trek is about 5hrs. after brek fast trek will start with pack lunch. Today the trek will be more up hill most of the time we will follow the river Kalu. In themiddle of the tre we have to cross a strem. Camp site is in the middle of two valley.

Day 03: Balu Ghera over Hamta Pass to Shea Garu (4270 m)

Today we have start early morning because today we have cross Hamata Pass .

Hamta Pass is at the height of 4270 m, get a close view of Deo Tibba & Indrasan. trek will take 7 hrs to reach at camp site. Today you get to experience the barren landscape of Himalayas in the lahul and spiti valley. Such a varity in one region is what makes the Hamata pass trekking most attractive.

Day 04: Shea Garu to Chhatru and drive to chander tal.

After breakfast , begin an easy descent through the hamata valley.it will take 3hrs to 4 hrs to reach at the base of Chhatru.will have lunch there and will have butter tea . after lunch vechical will take us to chandertal and will take another 5 hrs.or if we are late to chander tal will take night stay in middle .

Day 5 Rest Day at Chander Taal Lake.

We will do a hike around the lake.

Day 6Chander Taal To Manali

Early morning start to manali it will take at least 7 hrs.at manali you can go back to delhi at same evening or you can rest and next morning you can explore manali . evening time back to delhi.

NOTE

If you dont want to go to Chandertal you can go back to manali at same day when you reach at Chatru.

western cuisine is served. Particularly we keep our attention towards

variety: hygienic preparation and nutrition, on higher altitude treks.

The variety of available food is somewhat difficult to get and so we

serve tinned or packed product.

6) Staff: Guide (well English speaking local guide, cook, kitchen

boy, horses/mules, horseman,

7) Transportation: to and fro, Tata Sumo, Tata Qualis, Gypsy, Deluxe bus
