The Upper Basement is what you get when people from across the country, with varied music tastes and backgrounds, come together to create something unique and definitive of heavy metal and 80's rock. Throw in elements like funk, pop, and progression, and they've got something that holds true to its roots while making space for modern sounds. They started out as an alternative, grunge band back in 2011, but after a few lineup changes, including shuffling around instruments and roles in the band, they found themselves to be a heavy metal, 80's rock band somewhere around 2013.
